Sebastian Joy is a serial social entrepreneur and globally respected changemaker dedicated to transforming the global food system. As Founding President of ProVeg International—one of the world's leading food awareness organizations—Sebastian has spent over two decades launching nonprofits, coalitions, social enterprises, event series, and campaigns around the world.

Under Sebastian's leadership, ProVeg International has become a global force with offices in 14 countries across five continents and more than 220 employees. The organization has received the United Nations Momentum for Change Award and holds observer status with the UNFCCC, IPCC, and CBD, special consultative status with ECOSOC, and is accredited for UNEA. ProVeg works closely with key UN food and environment agencies to advance its mission: replacing 50% of animal products globally with plant-based and cultivated foods by 2040.

Sebastian is the founder of Kickstarting For Good, the world's first incubation and accelerator program designed to support nonprofits and impact initiatives transforming the food system. Through his work, Sebastian has helped launch initiatives that have raised over $500 million for plant-based and animal-free projects. He is also the co-creator of the ProVeg Incubator, the world's first incubator exclusively focused on plant-based and cultured food startups, and co-founded VeggieWorld, the world's largest series of vegan trade shows, as well as the Animal and Vegan Advocacy Summit.

Beyond his work with ProVeg, Sebastian is Vice-Chair of the European Vegetarian Union, a driving partner of V-Label International, and a mentor at Charity Entrepreneurship. He is a former lecturer in Social Entrepreneurship at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. His work is guided by the principles of effective altruism—using limited resources to do the most good.

Sebastian invented an award-winning toothpaste and his organizations have received multiple international awards. He currently lives in Berlin with his wife, Dr. Melanie Joy.
